One simple thing that we do each year to help stay focused on Christ during the Christmas season is to choose a scripture verse to be our family's theme verse for the Christmas season. I introduce the scripture during our first family night, and we incorporate it into various activities and crafts that we do throughout the month. This year, I also ordered a wall sticker from ScriptureArt for the entry hall of our home.
Just to get you started, here are some verses that you might choose from.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
II Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given. . . And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Luke 2:11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.
Titus 1:4b Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
Titus 3:4-5 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.
