One of the main reasons that I wanted to start this blog was to find other ideas and suggestions of how to have "A Purposeful Christmas". However, there was a little glitch in the system, and until my sweet friend, Kristen, fixed the blog last night, no one could leave a comment.
Now that we are up and running, I would love to hear what happens in your homes this time of year. Grace just last night told me that they wrote letters to Santa at school yesterday. But, instead of asking for toys for themselves, they had to ask for Santa to do something for someone else. What a great idea!
Anyway, if you have a minute, please tell me about one of your family's special Christmas traditions.

I collect advent calendars, so I use them as little motivators throughout the day. Get ready for school on time? Open today's magnet on the nativity calendar. Finish your after school chores? Advance the "Santa countdown" ornament.
It's a fun way to stay on track during the busy days.

On Christmas Eve, our kids sleep in their bedrolls on the floor of our room (either at home...or at the family member's house where we are staying that year). This is something little, but our kids LOVE it! And we love seeing them wake up with excitement.
Christmas morning, my husband and I quickly wake up the other family in the house...they get their coffee, cameras and position on the couch. Then the kids come out to a room full of people they love and see a "Santa" gift. I didn't realize until this year that my kids...especially our daughter...really enjoy this.
