A Thought on Santa

If you are trying to reduce or balance Santa's role in your Christmas celebration, you might consider Ruth Meek's suggestion in her Redeeming Christmas message.  She presented the idea that the best gifts should come from people and not Santa.  If a child receives a great gift from Santa, he or she is left with no one to thank.  Also, if the Santa gifts are not the highlight of the holiday, children will naturally shift their focus onto other things.  I had never considered either of these two points and thought they both made a lot of sense.
