I love real Christmas trees. I love looking through all of them in search of the perfect one. And, nothing makes it feel more like Christmas than the scent of a live tree in your home. However, eight years ago, we were blessed with a sweet baby girl just six days before Christmas. At that point we switched to an artificial tree. It was beautiful and so convenient. With little kids, it was so nice just to be able to pull the tree out of the attic after the babies were asleep or whenever we happened to have a few calm moments.
Today, we took the kids to choose a live tree for the first time. It may not be perfectly symetrical and it definitely did not come pre-lit, but I think my kids are hooked. (Cooper definitely is a fan of the live Christmas tree. Not a huge surprise since this dog will eat pretty much anything, but he thinks that pine needles are quite tasty. We are hoping they are not toxic to dogs!)
